2024-25 School Year Information

Attention Families!

If your student is no longer eligible for transportation next school year, please complete this survey immediately.

Your student will no longer receive JCPS transportation if they attend a magnet, traditional, or non-resides Academies of Louisville (AofL) school starting next school year (2024-25).  This survey will be used to verify if you'd like your student to remain at their current school or have them move to a school where they're eligible for transportation.

Transportation

In April 2024, the Jefferson County Board of Education approved a new transportation plan for the 2024-25 school year to help more students arrive on time.

Most magnet school students will no longer be eligible for JCPS transportation.

With a dramatic shortage of bus drivers and more routes than drivers, the board voted to cut JCPS transportation for students* who:

  • Attend full magnet schools with the exception of Central and Western High Schools

  • Attend magnet programs within a school

  • Attend traditional schools

  • Attend non-resides Academies of Louisville programs

That means students at several JCPS schools will no longer have access to bus transportation from JCPS.

*The following groups of students will still get transportation regardless of the school they attend:

  • Exceptional Child Education (ECE) students who have transportation as a part of their Individual Education Program (IEP).

  • Students who are eligible to receive McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act services.
