Ballard’s Management & Entrepreneurship pathway prepares individuals to plan, organize, direct, and control the functions and processes of a firm or organization. Includes instruction in management theory, human resources management and behavior, accounting and other quantitative methods, purchasing and logistics, organization and production, marketing, and business decision making.

Marketing

The Ballard Marketing pathway prepares individuals to undertake and manage the process of developing consumer audiences and moving products from producers to consumers. Includes instruction in buyer behavior and dynamics, principle of marketing research, demand analysis, cost-volume and profit relationships, pricing theory, marketing campaign and strategic planning, market segments, advertising methods, sales operations and management, consumer relations, retailing, and applications to specific products and markets.

This pathway generally prepares individuals to perform operations associated with retail sales in a variety of settings. Includes instruction in over the counter and other direct sales operations in business settings, basic bookkeeping principles, customer services, team/staff leadership and supervision, floor management, and applicable technical skills.

The Ballard Teaching & Learning pathway focuses on the general theory and practice of learning and teaching, the basic principles of educational psychology, the art of teaching, the planning and administration of educational activities, school safety and health issues, and the social foundations of education. The courses associated with this pathway provide the opportunity for students to acquire dual credit through the University of Louisville.
