Some History of the Viking Basketball program
1944 - Legendary basketball coach, Peck Hickman, leaves Valley to coach the University of Louisville.
1977 - Boy’s basketball team is State Runner-up in the KHSAA Basketball Championship.
1986 - Boy’s basketball semi-finalist in State KHSAA Basketball Tournament.
1989 - Boys basketball team wins Louisville Invitational Tournament (LIT).
1998 - Girls basketball Coach Maria Paschal named KHSAA Coach-of-the-Year.
