The staff, parents, and community of Smyrna Elementary are committed partners, ensuring that our students achieve academic proficiency, develop socially and  emotionally, and create an equitable environment where all students have access to high-quality instruction and a variety of learning experiences.  

School Highlights

• Uses schoolwide House System that promotes a sense of belonging for students, staff, and families
• Full-time library media; music; Compassionate Schools Project (CSP); Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) lab, and physical education (PE) 
• Partnership with the Parklands of Floyds Fork Park Outdoor Classroom
• Increased exposure to the arts through a 5x5 Fund for the Arts Grant
• Student-led conferences that allow students to share their accomplishments, areas of growth, and goals with their parents
• Student activities: Robotics, Quick Recall and Problem Solving Teams, Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP), Extended School Services (ESS), band, orchestra, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and cheerleading
• Student voice, advocacy, and service-learning platforms supported through problem-based and Project-Based Learning (PBL) opportunities
• Exceptional Child Education (ECE), English as a Second Language (ESL) Program, and additional student support for all students through small focus groups in math and reading
