Chancey Elementary Short-Term NTI Plan

Student Expectations

  • Log in to your teacher's Google Classroom daily.

  • Complete assigned tasks within 24 hours.

  • Communicate with your teacher if you need additional time.

  • Join the daily morning meeting at 8:15 a.m. to ask questions and get support with assignments.

Virtual School Office Hours
7 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, we will continue with Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) as much as possible. To ensure a smooth transition, we will provide students with devices and detailed work plans in advance. Teachers and staff will be available for support through our digital platform or email.

Short-term NTI is a self-paced, online learning format with scheduled teacher and administrator office hours for live assistance.

What will the work look like?

Students will follow the grade-level NTI schedule and assignments found in Google Classroom. Assignments will vary daily and have specific due dates. Most work must be submitted within 24 hours, with extensions possible in certain circumstances.

Logging In

Students should log in to their Google Classroom using their assigned Chromebook to access assignments. The classroom icon is a green chalkboard found in the waffle (9 small grey dots) in the upper-right corner.

Communication

We will provide updates through School Messenger. Teachers may also communicate via email and classroom communication tools (Class Dojo, Remind, etc). Reach out to your child's teacher for help with NTI. All staff will check school email from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Teachers will have designated office hours. If you contact them after the instructional day ends, expect a reply the following school day.

Attendance

On NTI days, student participation will be tracked. This includes participation in morning meetings or office hours, submission of work, and time spent on assignments.
