The broad purpose of PBIS is to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of schools and other agencies. PBIS improves social, emotional, and academic outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities and students from underrepresented groups.
Curriculum
At Churchill Park, we use a variety of curricula for teaching students with moderate/severe disabilities, including the Ablenet Equals Curriculum for Math and the Unique Learning System for Language Arts. Teachers use Boardmaker Online to create interactive lessons for their students. We also have internal documents to follow student progress on Essential Skills, and each student has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) that drives instruction. Due to the complex needs of our students, each student receives individualized instruction designed to meet them where they are and help them progress toward their goals.
