Meet Principal Billops
Dear Greenwood Community,
It’s truly an honor to be a part of the Greenwood family and community. Greenwood is a unique and special place that I am incredibly excited to call my home away from home.
I come to you with 20 years of experience as an educator; however, I come from a family of educators, so I have been around this profession all my life. I spent 10 years teaching in Virginia, Washington DC, and here in Louisville. I served for 5 years as an instructional and leadership coach and 5 years as an assistant principal.
I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education and that only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interests of our children. With that in mind, I will be calling on all of our faculty, staff, and parents to work as a singular unit so we can best serve our children.
I am truly honored to be given this opportunity to lead Greenwood. I believe my main responsibility is to put our teachers in the best possible position to succeed, as they will in turn, put our children in the best possible position to succeed. I look forward to meeting all of you and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
Sincerely,
Joy Billops
Greenwood Elementary Principal
