Our Family Resource Center (FRC) coordinator is Jimica Marshall.
FRCs were started in Kentucky schools as a part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) in 1990. The primary goal of these centers is to remove nonacademic barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success.
Some of the services/activities/programs offered by Harstern FRC are as follows:
Uniform assistance
School supply assistance
Transition programs
Kindergarten (P1) orientation
New-student orientation
Middle School Transition Night
Basic needs referrals
Emergency assistance referrals
Referrals concerning daycare (to Community Coordinated Child Care [4-C])
Parent involvement activities (in collaboration with school and Parent Teacher Association [PTA])
Information for new and expectant parents
Attendance work
