Louisville ECHO
Louisville ECHO is the programming component of the West Louisville Outdoor Recreation Initiative (WLORI). Its goal is to create “cradle-to-career” access to nature with sustained opportunities for young people to engage in nature at all ages. Jefferson Memorial Forest (JMF) and the Natural Areas Division of Louisville Parks & Recreation (Parks) manage this environmental education and outdoor recreation programming. Wilderness Louisville, Inc, also supports ECHO.
ECHO programming currently consists of several complementary components: school-based environmental education, ECHO out-of-school education/recreation programming, nature play with the ECHOmobile, summer job training, and family-oriented community events. ECHO serves communities in West and South Louisville.
