Application Process

In order to be eligible for consideration for the Noe Middle School Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Program or the Gifted and Talented Magnet Program, a student must meet the following criteria: 

  • Maintained at least a B+ average (3.2 grade point average) in grades four and five; 

  • Demonstrated good attendance; 

  • Demonstrated good attitude and conduct. 

In addition to these requirements, students who are applying for the Gifted and Talented Magnet Program also must be coded Gifted through their elementary school screening or score within the 9th Stanine in Reading or Math on MAP, or above the 96th Percentile on Norm-Referenced exams, or have Index Scores of at least 128 on the Naglieri NNAT3. 

Those who meet this minimum criteria will be rank ordered based on the criteria and program capacities. Due to capacity issues, meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants who do not meet the minimum criteria will not be considered. 

Students who are interested in applying to Noe must complete an application. Families are encouraged to apply but you can also apply in person at the following locations: 

  • JCPS School Choice Office: 4309 Bishop Lane 

  • JCPS Office of Multilingual Learners (OML): 1325 Bluegrass Avenue 

The school will review the student’s records online. Parents of non-JCPS students will need to provide grades, attendance records, and test scores.
