FRCs were started in Kentucky schools as a part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) in 1990. The primary goal of these centers is to remove nonacademic barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success.
Some of the services/activities/programs offered by the Price FRC are:
Uniform assistance
School supply assistance
Transition programs
New-student assistance
Basic needs referrals
Emergency assistance referrals
Referrals concerning daycare or after school activities
Parent Engagement activities (in collaboration with school and Parent Teacher Association [PTA])
Information for new and expectant parents
Attendance work
