We all value the diversity of the students attracted to Brandeis, and we believe these guidelines will not impede that diversity. The following guidelines are in place to maintain a safe, positive learning environment for all Brandeis students:

• Clothing should provide adequate coverage (t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and jeans are comfortable clothing options)  

• All accessories and clothing should display only positive messages

• Wellness is an important part of all students’ days. Therefore, shoes that allow for safe activity are important. Tennis shoes are best, but closed-toed shoes with straps are an additional option.

• Head attire will only be worn on special scheduled days or for religious/cultural reasons.

If clothing or accessories interrupt our Brandeis students' safe, positive learning environment, alternative options will be provided, and families will be informed.
