CDFRC

What is the Chenoweth/Dunn Family Resource Center (CDFRC)?

We are part of the Jefferson County Public Schools District and are funded with a grant through the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA). Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are designed to help remove non-cognitive barriers to student learning. We work to give students and their families easier access to health and human services through programs, referrals to outside agencies, and partnerships with groups inside and outside of the school. Our primary goal is to help our students lead happy, healthy lives and to succeed in school.

I was raised in Lexington, KY, and later went to the University of Louisville, where I obtained my Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work. GO CARDS! I met my husband, Michael, at the University of Louisville and we have two very energetic children, Gabriella, 5, and Michael, 3. There is never a dull moment in our home. As a parent I understand your concerns and the challenges we face. It is truly a privilege to work with students and families throughout this district. Let's work together this school year and support your student to ensure academic success. I am here for YOU!

Advisory Council

The Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC) program is built upon the foundation of collaboration. A guiding principle in the development of the program was that the FRYSC program would have a community focus – we were intended to collaborate with other entities in order to more effectively serve the needs of our students and families. Centers are to be “brokers of services” – connecting students and families with the resources they need to be successful. In Family Resource and Youth Services Centers, the local Advisory Council is the key to assuring that collaborative community input and involvement occurs in the planning, implementation and oversight of the Center’s activities.
