Students in the Percussion Ensemble will have the opportunity to perform on a variety of pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments. This ensemble is a continuation of the Instrumental Music Class, so students will read, write, and improvise on instruments that include xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, and rhythmic handheld percussion instruments. Students in the Percussion Ensemble will also have the opportunity to participate in drum circles. Drum circles give students the chance to play and improvise on the drum with a group and sometimes by themselves. Being a part of the Percussion Ensemble will give students joyful, musical experiences while providing multiple performance opportunities throughout the school year.
