Welcome to LPAS Orchestra!

In fourth and fifth grades, students have the option to study orchestra. They are introduced to the fundamentals that are essential to being a member of a music ensemble. Students learn the basics of their instrument, scales, key signature, and reading and understanding notation and the elements of music. The orchestra options are violin, viola, cello, and bass. There is an opportunity to perform in small ensemble groups as well as a culminating performance as a band or orchestra. There are also after-school opportunities to fuller enhance the orchestra student's education. Advanced Full Orchestra is offered after school and is when students will rehearse and perform with students from the advanced band class playing combined music. Also offered after school are free private lessons by orchestra members of the Youth Performing Arts School.
