All classrooms receive monthly social-emotional lessons from the counseling team. These lessons are often tied to our CharacterStrong program and involve respect, kindness, honesty, courage, etc.

Monthly Social-Emotional Lessons
Small Group Counseling
Ms. Libby offers small group counseling to each grade level. Each group meets during the school day for 30 minutes and lasts 5-6 weeks. The group topic is based on a social-emotional need seen by the teacher(s). If your student is chosen for a small group, a permission form will be sent home.
Individual Counseling
Mr. Guttmann and Ms. Libby meet with students individually. Individual counseling can incorporate a lot of different topics. Parents, staff, and students can submit a referral for a student. A permission form will be sent home for your student to receive individual counseling. If you have questions or would like your student to receive counseling at school, please get in touch with Ms. Libby or Mr. Guttmann.
Community-Based Counseling
If the social-emotional concern is not happening at school, outside therapy might be a better fit. JCPS has partnered with Care Solace to make it easier for parents and guardians to find community-based counseling. Please get in touch with Mr. Guttmann or Ms. Libby to submit a Care Solace referral.
