Clubs, Organizations, and Athletics

At PRP High School, being part of a club, sport, or activity is more than just fun—it's about building a strong, supportive community. Clubs give you the chance to connect with others who share your passions, learn new skills, and make lifelong friendships. Whether you're into sports, arts, academics, or something totally unique, there's a place for you to belong and grow. By joining a club, organization, or activity you have the chance to build stronger bonds and you have the opportunity to be part of something bigger—our PRP family. Let's make our school stronger together!

PRP's Commitment to the Arts

PRP High School's commitment to arts education underscores the importance of a well-rounded curriculum that nurtures creativity alongside academic achievement. This holistic approach helps foster critical thinking, collaboration, and self-expression, equipping students with essential skills for future success.

Key Components of PRP High School’s Commitment to the Arts:

  1. Visual Arts Program: The Visual Art Department of Pleasure Ridge Park High School strives to provide positive arts experiences through quality instruction to students of all levels of ability.  By advocating lifelong learning in the arts, we hope to help expand our students’ artistic experiences, skills, understanding and appreciation.  Students may major in Visual Art and participate in the Communication, Media, and Arts Career Theme, receiving instruction in studio arts as well as graphic arts; or students may choose Visual Art as an elective.  We advocate individual development of attitudes, skills, knowledge, and responsibility essential to self-realization and engagement in school and community. Check out PRP's Visual Arts Website to see examples of student work and the latest news about PRP's Visual Arts Program.

  2. Performing Arts:

    • Theater: The school has an active theater program that encourages students to participate in drama productions, both as performers and behind the scenes. PRP likely stages multiple plays and musicals throughout the school year, providing a creative outlet for aspiring actors, directors, and stage technicians.

    • Music: PRP's music program includes band, choir, and orchestra. Students may join various ensembles, and there are opportunities for participation in regional and state music competitions and festivals.

    • Dance: Dance allows students to express themselves through movement, either as part of physical education or within a dedicated dance program.

  3. Extracurricular Opportunities:

    • Art Clubs: PRP offer art clubs and after-school programs focused on different artistic disciplines. These clubs provide students with additional time and resources to develop their skills outside of regular classes.

    • Community Involvement: PRP also collaborates with local arts organizations, museums, and galleries, giving students the chance to engage with the broader Louisville arts community.

    • School Events and Showcases: PRP hosts art shows, concerts, and theatrical performances that are open to the public, offering students platforms to present their work to the community.
