Welcome to Waggener High School!

Waggener High School is an Academies of Louisville school, featuring a Freshman Academy, a Health Science Academy, and an IT & Law Academy. Waggener’s Freshman Academy obtained model status from the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) last spring, becoming the first accredited academy, not only in JCPS, but in the state of Kentucky.

Our Health Science and IT & Law Academies offer eight distinct career pathway options leading to industry certifications. Our Waggener Wildcats graduate with not only high school diplomas, but armed with entry level, high-demand industry certifications such as MNA, EKG technician, Allied Health/Biomed NOCTI, Python, and Java. Our students learn in state-of-the-art facilities such as our Medical Lab, Sports Medicine Complex, Courtroom, and Mac Lab. Our Waggener school community is thankful to have the support of business and post-secondary partners who offer our students an abundance of experiences such as industry tours, mentoring, mock interviews, job shadow opportunities, and apprenticeships.

In addition to career readiness, Waggener’s College NoW program allows our students to earn college credit while in high school. Waggener also boasts robust arts and music programs, championship athletic and extracurricular programs, and rewarding community engagement opportunities.
