Bellarmine coach is cheerleader for JCPS
He's one of the most recognizable faces in Louisville. Scotty Davenport is the head coach of Bellarmine University's men's basketball team. He won a state championship as coach of the Ballard High School men's team and was a long time assistant coach for the University of Louisville Cardinals. Davenport is also universally lauded as one of the biggest cheerleaders for Jefferson County Public Schools and South Louisville, where he grew up. On October 10, 2022 Iroquois High School surprised and celebrated its 1974 graduate with a banner on the side of its gymnasium.
