We followed two sixth graders throughout the year to see how middle school was going.

July 12, 2023 -Starting middle school can be a nerve-wracking experience for a variety of reasons, ranging from remembering locker combinations, changing classes or going to a new school in general.

For the 2022-23 school year, we followed two sixth graders as they embarked on their early middle school journey to see what they enjoy about the school year and how they're adjusting. Bryson, who attends Ramsey Middle School, and Presley, who attends Johnson Traditional Middle School, go to school on opposite sides of the city but they share a similar interest in wanting to make new friends while building upon the friendships they made in elementary school.

By the end of the school year, both students were looking forward to making new memories with friends and were both excited to start seventh grade - a year in which they won't have to learn a new routine.
