BETA Club

Description - BETA Club is a service organization.
BETA Club's goal is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

Black Student Union

Description - We are a student organization that strives for academic excellence, positive images, empowerment, teaching, discussing and exploring, and the cultural diversities in our community. Activities include volunteer voter registration, community service (food, clothes drive), mentorship programs with elementary/middle grade level students, justice now education advocacy, education equity, and several others.

Chess Club

Description - We play and learn chess in the library after school on Thursdays. We keep it very relaxed and learn at your own pace. We have a lot of different faces and people who stop by often. When we compete against other schools we typically have pizza and snacks in a serious atmosphere that is fun to observe.

Educators Rising

Description - Educators Rising offers several opportunities for students to take leadership roles and engage with the community. Students can attend or compete in District, State, and National conferences! Ed Rising also offers Scholarships to support students who go on to pursue degrees in education.
Membership Dues - None to attend meetings or participate in club activities. $10 to compete/participate at the state conference.

Esports (Video Game) Club

HOSA - Future Health Professionals

Description - HOSA is a worldwide organization with the goal of promoting careers in the healthcare industry. The mission is to empower students by encouraging leadership, education, collaboration, and real-world experience.

Membership Requirements - Open to all students in the Health Science Program and to all students who plan to pursue a health career.
Meeting Times - First Tuesday of every month during the school year - additional meetings/activities added throughout the school year
JROTC Air Rifle Team
Sponsor - 1SG Email Adam Hiracheta
Description - The JROTC Rifle team builds leadership and teamwork. In this team, cadets are expected to shoot air rifles at given targets set up in front of them. Cadets have to shoot in three positions: prone, standing, and kneeling. Just like the other teams, students shoot and compete with other schools and are scored. To join the Lely Rifle team you must be a JROTC cadet, talk to the commanders about being interested, and pass a test on safety. This team was just recently brought back to Lely so we aspire to introduce this team to our cadets and hopefully improve scores with some practice!

JROTC Colorguard & Drill Team

Description - The competitive Color Guard is an extracurricular Army JROTC team responsible for presenting the flag in a variety of settings. The members of the Color Guard practice drill and ceremonies, proper wearing of the uniform as well as the proper ways to show respect to our nation's flag.

JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl

Description - There are two teams (1) Leadership and (2) Academics. Each team has six members that practice, but only 4 can compete. It is an intellectual competition like "quick recall" or "jeopardy."

KYA/KUNA

Description - The Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) and Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA) is an expanded, educational opportunity in which students serve as part of a model state and model-UN government. KYA and KUNA offer students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around the Commonwealth.

Men of Quality

Description - Men of Quality is a mentoring program for African-American males in grades 9-12. The program is sponsored by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Our goal is to help young men set realistic goals, realize that the future belongs to those who are prepared, and become role models who can share their time, resources, and efforts in giving back to our community and our country.

National Honor Society

Description - The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service, and character. The National Honor Society requires some sort of service to the community, school, or other organizations.

Pep Club

Description - We are the school spirit squad. The purpose of the Pep Club is to promote school spirit by attending, cheering at, and publicizing games. Promoting sportsmanship is a big part of the Pep Club Mission. Students make posters, encourage fans, parents, players, and coaches, offer open gyms, and conduct spirit wear sales. Description - Students are represented from all music ensemble courses. This group works together to advocate for and improve the image of the school's music department. This is achieved through service projects and community service throughout the school building.

Membership Requirements - COMPLETED participation in a school music ensemble for at least one semester. B grade or better in music course and 3.0 GPA or better overall. Character strength that includes demonstration of service, leadership, and cooperation. 8 hours of community service.
