Dress Code 2024-25

Uniform Shirts/Sweaters/Sweatshirts

Permitted (YES)

  • Any solid-colored Polo-style or Oxford-style (with collar)

  • Conway bookstore/activity/sports shirts (no hoodies)

  • Solid-colored sweatshirts

  • 1-inch or smaller logos in the top left side are permitted

  • Quarter zips solid colored

Uniform Slacks/Pants/Shorts/Skirts/Skorts

Permitted (YES)

  • Khaki, Gray, Navy (uniform style)

  • Skirts/Shorts/Skorts: (uniform style) must be no more than 3 inches from the top of the knee

Shoes

Permitted (YES)

  • Must be worn at all times

  • Crocs must be in sports mode

Outerwear, Belts, Accessories

Permitted (YES)

  • Jackets, coats, hoodies, etc., and backpacks are stored in locker before entering classrooms

  • Clear backpacks

  • Purses should be clear and the size of a Kleenex box or smaller

  • NO hoodies/no full zippers

  • NO oversized/undersized shirts

  • No RIP (Rest in Peace) attire

  • No profanity, inappropriate writing, or drug pictures

  • No denim/jean-like material

  • No spandex, leggings as pants, jeggings, jogging suits, yoga pants, wind-suits, athletic material, or sweatpants

  • No oversized pants or shorts

  • No sagging

  • No cargo pants/shorts

  • No pants/shorts with side pockets

  • No cut-off shorts

  • No pajama pants

Shoes

Unacceptable (NO)

  • No open-toe shoes, bubble shoes, slides, clogs, house shoes, flip-flops, or backless shoes are allowed

  • No shoes with wheels or light-up

Outerwear, Belts, Accessories

Unacceptable (NO)

  • No oversized belt buckles

  • Clothing, makeup, jewelry, gloves, or accessories that disrupt the educational process are not allowed

  • Hats/Hoods, bandanas, headscarves, toboggans, bonnets, caps, or sunglasses are not to be worn in the school building

  • Blankets are not allowed and must be placed in the locker

  • No backpack purses

Other Unacceptable (NO)

  • Headphones, air pods, wireless earbuds

  • No writing, drawing, or graffiti on clothing or socks

  • No gang-related styles/attire

Dress Down Days

All issues or questions concerning dress-down code are at the discretion of the principal or principal designee.

  • No pajamas or pajama onesies

  • No pants with holes above ethe knees

  • No see-through clothing

  • No low cut, sleeveless shirts or undershirts

  • No spaghetti strap tank tops

  • No body suits

Dress Code Discipline Progression

1st offense- Allow student to call home to get a change of clothes.
Warning given.
If the student is unable to get a parent admin will give them a pass stating that the violation has been documented and they are good for the remainder of the day. 


2nd offense- Allow student to call home to get a change of clothes. 

Do a reminder in the system.
If the student is unable to get a parent admin will give them a pass stating that the violation has been documented and they are good for the remainder of the day.


3rd offense- Allow student to call home to get a change of clothes. 

If the student is unable to get a parent, the student will receive 1 hour of ISAP time.
ISAP will give them a pass stating that the violation has been documented and they are good for the remainder of the day. 


4th offense- Allow student to call home to get a change of clothes. 

If the student is unable to get a parent, the student will receive 2 hours of ISAP time.
ISAP will give them a pass stating that the violation has been documented and they are good for the remainder of the day. 


5th offense- Allow student to call home to get a change of clothes. 

If the student is unable to get a parent, the student will receive 1/2 day of ISAP time.
ISAP will give them a pass stating that the violation has been documented and they are good for the remainder of the day. 


6th and beyond offenses- Allow student to call home to get a change of clothes. 

If the student is unable to get a parent, the student will receive 1 full day of ISAP time. 

Administrators have final decision making authority in the enforcement and interpretation of the dress code. 

The administration at Conway Middle School reserves the right to determine what constitutes appropriate dress. Parents will be called if appropriate clothing is not available or the student refuses dress-code appropriate clothing

Youth Services Center - Clothing/dress Code Policy

Do’s

  •  Provide Clothing for Students who have accidents. (Spills, female situations, etc.). 

  • Accepts/Completes referrals for students who do not have adequate clothing (via clothing assistance program or community partners. 

Don’ts 

  • Provide clothing for students who are hot or cold. 

  • Provide clothing for students who are out of the dress code unless the student needs clothing assistance at which time a referral is completed.

  • Dress Code after 1st period

Cellphone Policy

All students at Conway will adhere to the following cell phone and electronics policy. Parents are urged to call the school office to relay urgent messages to their child. This policy applies to the instructional day which begins 7:30 A.M. and ends at 2:10 P.M.. Students arriving before the instructional day or who stay past 2:20 P.M. are prohibited from recording videos or photography.

No cell phones and other toys/electronic devices are allowed.

Students shall not use/activate and/or display a personal telecommunication device on school property during the instructional day.

Cell phones and other devices must be secured in student's lockers during the instructional day.

Cell phones and other telecommunication devices are not allowed in classrooms or common areas.
