Athletics Participation Requirements

What Do I Need to Participate

  1. Signed permission slip

  2. Completed Sports Physical and a notarized JCPS Parent Consent to Play From on the first try-out date (physicals are good for 395 days)

  3. Completed participation packet (by a parent) given on the first try-out date.

  4. $65 or $100 team fee per sport for all sports (can be paid in full or in installments before the first game)

Expectations

As an Johnson Traditional student-athlete, you are a model student first and an athlete second. Therefore, certain behaviors are required as a member of an athletic sanctioned team. Spreading rumors/gossip, bullying, cursing, disrespect, vandalism to property, theft, dishonesty, cheating, use or possession of mind-altering substances and physical altercations will not be tolerated. Detentions and suspensions of student-athletes are not taken lightly at JTMS. Referrals will be reported to the Athletic Director and a meeting with your Coach, AD, AP, Counselor and/or Principal will be scheduled to discuss your standing with the team. You must uphold integrity and character at all times.
