PTSA Teacher Appreciation - Sponsor a Teacher
Teacher Appreciation Week is quickly approaching and we need your help to show our Phoenix staff how much they are appreciated. We will be celebrating our phenomenal staff the week of April 28 - May 1. You can help by sponsoring teacher's lunches and desserts that week. We are planning on ordering boxed lunches and baked cookies from local restaurants. Sponsor as many or as few as you can - any little bit helps.

Senior Class Donation
Each year, our graduating class gets to take part in “Senior Week”. During their final week of school, students get to take part in various fun events in and outside of the building. Our goal this year is to have at least four events dedicated to our graduating students.
To achieve our goal, we rely on fundraisers and the support of generous donations throughout the school year. Our goal is to host as many of these fun events for our seniors as possible, but our funds are limited. The seniors have put in 12 years of hard work and dedication, and deserve this special week of recognition!

Dental Clinic
We have rescheduled the dental clinic for April 16th and April 30th.
If you would like for your student to be seen by Big Smiles at The Phoenix - https://www.myschooldentist.com/TQJCKY_schsrm
Big Smiles is a dental program that provides on-site dental for ALL students who sign-up to participate. Dental care will include a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, sealants and/or restorative care such as fillings if necessary. They accept Medicaid or private insurance, and offer low-cost self-pay rates and a grant option through their foundation to cover the cost (upon request).

Attendance Matters
1.State Law - HB 611 is a new Kentucky law that requires the referral of students with 15 unexcused absences to the Jefferson County Attorney's Office (JCAO). The goal of HB 611 is to reduce unexcused absences, promote consistent attendance, and ensure students receive the support they need to stay engaged in school.
2. The minimum attendance percentage is 80% (unexcused absences only). If your student drops below this number prior to January 1st, your student will be put on probation and may be exited by the end of the year.
3. Attendance Cards were mail out last week from the Board of Education.
“Requesting” a Home Chromebook & Acceptable Use Form
This is an optional program. Home Chromebooks for the 24-25 school year will be available for all Phoenix students.
If you have a standalone computer, laptop or Apple product and have an internet connection, there is no reason to request a school Home Chromebook.
Home Chromebooks will be distributed the 2nd & 3rd week of school
Request a Home Chromebook - JCPS / The Phoenix Chromebook Device Agreement

Middle & High School - Social Security Numbers (SSN)
This is critical for all students.
Did you know that thousands of students don't receive free scholarship monies, often because they are just missing their Social Security Number.
Over 54% of JCPS students do not have a social security number listed in Infinite Campus. Without a linked SSN, students cannot earn KEES money.
All students are required to have a copy of their Social Security card as part of their official school records.
Please bring a copy of your child's Social Security card to The Phoenix or contact Calli Hagan for other methods. 502-485-7700.
