Damaged, Lost or Stolen Devices

My Chromebook is Damaged or Screen is Broken

Did you drop your device?  Is it broken and after reset/troubleshooting and will not turn on?  

Parents/Guardians/Students may be charged for the cost of repairs to a Chromebook that has been damaged due to misuse.

Bring the damaged device to your appointment (book below).  We can try to fix it or give you a replacement device at that time.

You may bring the broken device in for repair by making an appointment below.  If you cannot get that to work or need support, please email the technology coordinator.  

Device Support and Repair BY APPOINTMENT ONLY 

Device dates and times are all on days and times when school is in session BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. If JCPS is Closed for Inclement Weather, Device Support appointments will as be canceled as well.  Pathfinder families will choose an appointment time to come to school to meet with our technology coordinator.  If you cannot get that to work or need support for an appointment, please email the technology coordinator or call/text 485-7823.

Pick-up Process

  1. Enter Dawson Orman from S. Brook St. or South Floyd St.

  2. Park in the parking lot 

  3. Walk to door #5 

  4. Open the double doors and ring the bell inside.  

  5. State your reason for entry and you will be directed to staff to assist with device pick-up.

Student and Family Loaned Device Responsibilities

Please review with your student the proper care and use of their Chromebooks. If devices are intentionally damaged, repeatedly damaged, or lost, families may be charged a fee for the repair or replacement.  

My Chromebook is Lost or Stolen

Chromebooks should never be stored in an unsupervised area.  They should be securely stored or locked away when not in use. 

If a Chromebook is lost or stolen, it is the student, parent, or guardian’s responsibility to report it immediately to your school:

  • Report a lost or stolen device immediately to your school:  Pathfinder Lost or Stolen Device Reporting Form

    • A police report is required in the event the Chromebook or Hotspot has been stolen. It is the responsibility of the student, parent, or guardian to file the police report as the device was in their possession. You may contact the technology coordinator at Pathfinder if you need device details for the report.

    • Parents/Guardians/Students may be charged for the full replacement cost of a hotspot that has been lost or stolen.

    • Once reported to the school, we will reach out about replacement

My Cord is Lost or Broken

If you have your cord and it no longer works, we can get you a replacement.  Bring the Chromebook or broken cord to Dawson Orman.  If you lost the cord, bring the device so we can match a cord for you. (See Booking Above)

If you have lost your cord or damaged your cord due to misuse, you will be asked to cover the cost of a replacement cord.  You are also welcome to purchase a replacement cord on your own.  Amazon has replacement cords if you search for the model of your device.
