Principal, Bloom Elementary

Hi there, Bulldogs! I'm a proud JCPS employee and an even prouder Bloom Elementary principal. I started working for JCPS in 1995 as an 18-year-old ECE Instructional Assistant. Over the years, I've also been a 5th-grade teacher, Computer Lab teacher, special care teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and, of course, now principal. I have a Bachelor's degree in sociology and a Master's of Arts in Teaching from UofL (Go Cards!), a principal's certification from IUS, and a PhD in Social Justice from Bellarmine University (Go Knights!). While I was in the classroom, I received my National Board Certification.

At Bloom Elementary, we provide life-enriching opportunities to empower students to become the best version of themselves. Our vision is to become a world leader in individualized student growth. The Bloom learning community motivates students to love learning and value the importance of education by providing a holistic approach to achieving proficiency.

On a personal note, my husband Andrew and I were married on November 3, 2019. We have the cutest puppies, Howard, AKA Howie, and OG.

Assistant Principal, Bloom Elementary

Hi Bloom families! I am so thankful to serve as Bloom Elementary's assistant principal! I returned home to my favorite bulldogs in 2018. This is my tenth year as an assistant principal, and I have twenty-four years of experience in education. I am an Eastern Kentucky University graduate, as well as an IU Southeast and University of the Cumberlands graduate! I have my Rank I in Educational Leadership, K-12.

Since I was an elementary student, I have known that I wanted to be a teacher.  Decades later, I know my passion is still teaching and learning alongside my amazing students at Bloom.  I believe that passion is what drives our day-to-day work with our students. We work hard to ensure our students at Bloom are provided rich and meaningful opportunities that they can carry with them long after moving on from us.  Of all the lessons and standards we teach, the most important thing I want my students to remember from Bloom is remembering to BE KIND.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband Brian for twenty-five years and counting. We have two amazing kids, Evan and Emma Kate. Evan has graduated from WKU and will be pursuing a new career path. Emma Kate will be graduating this year from WKU and is a photographer. My favorite pastimes are relaxing by my pool or spending time at the beach, where you will find me with a book in my hand!
