Our School Day

Students' school day begins at 7:40 A.M. and ends at 2:20 P.M.

School building is open to students beginning at 7:00 A.M. 

  • Students are not allowed to enter the building before 7:00 am

  • There is NO morning CEP offered at Lowe

Students are dismissed to their classrooms at 7:30 A.M.  

Lunch Period

Students and staff have a 20 minute lunch period. 

Lowe Elementary Awards And Recognitions

Lowe Elementary is a Kentucky Department of Education Distinguished School.  

This award is given because of our students' outstanding academic achievement. Lowe students perform in the top five percent of all schools in Kentucky. 

  • Lowe has 2 teachers who are National Board Certified Teachers ,  NBCT is a distinction given to teachers who excel at their craft. 

  • 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship Particpants

  • 2019 Student Grown Homeless Garden Awarded to 1st/2nd Grade

  • 2018 Golden Oar Award given to retired teacher, Lauren Dickey

  • 2018 Golden Oar Award given by Library Media Services

  • 2017 Hillard Lyons Excellence Award given by KY Science Center

Other student accolades Lowe takes pride in: student led book drive to send 1,000 books to Kenya, student led coat drive for the homeless, and a graduated student published a book at nine years old.

Parent Involvement

Parent participation is viewed as an integral part of the educational process at Lowe Elementary. Parents are welcome and are a visible part of the Lowe experience. Lowe has a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and encourages parents to become involved in decision making through our School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council and committees.
