Hello Shark Families,
My name is Kadia Turner. I am thrilled to serve as your assistant principal, here at Shelby. I joined the Shelby family in 2020 as an Academic Instructional Coach and am really excited to continue with your sharks on the journey to excellence and beyond. 2022 marks year 26 as a professional educator in both public and private schools. During this time, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow in a variety of roles including the building administrator, Professional Learning Community Lead, and JCPS Racial Equity Resource Teacher. I have also taught every grade at the elementary level.
My husband, Anton, and I have been married for 15 years, and we have been blessed with two girls who are also JCPS students. As a mom, I understand the hopes and dreams you have for your child's future and count it a privilege to partner with you in supporting your child's academic success and personal development. Your children are the heartbeat of Shelby and bring the positive energy that makes coming to work such a joy.
I welcome your input and encourage you to communicate as needs arise. Communication will be key in providing our sharks with the warm supportive environment that promotes success. I am looking forward to a momentous year with many opportunities to celebrate each Shelby Shark.
