After a long career as an attorney, a stint in the Kentucky Governor's office, and Vice President of Community Relations for LG&E, Laura Douglas now leads the West End Opportunity Partnership. Douglas is also a JCPS Great Grad having graduated from Shawnee High School in 1967.

Eisenhower Elementary School FRYSC Nicole Joyner had an idea: why not create a pickleball league with surrounding elementary schools? From that came the Southwest Pickleball League. The league currently has six schools, and the goal is to double it for the 2025-26 school year.
