Economic Diversity/Equity Program Review Committee
The mission of the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Economic Diversity/Equity Program Review Committee (EDEPRC) is to create and engage in the development and implementation of Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE) procurement.
The committee strives to improve communication and encourage respect within its communities by enhancing the development of relationship skills and providing opportunities to share experiences and diverse perspectives among members of the community.
JCPS Statement of Commitment
The JCPS District values diversity, inclusion, and equity. JCPS actively and aggressively encourages and promotes the participation of MBE/WBE.
At JCPS:
We will ensure fair and inclusive opportunities when procuring construction contractors, professional service contractors, and vendors or suppliers of tangible goods and commodities.
We will educate our employees by providing mandatory anti-discrimination, diversity, and inclusion training to all district staff involved in any and all district procurement processes and business operations and practices.
We will educate MBE/WBE by conducting workshops to help with their development and making them aware of business opportunities.
Meets: EDEPRC will meet on the third Thursday of each month from 9 to 10 a.m. in the first-floor conference room at VanHoose Education Center beginning July
19, 2018, unless otherwise noted. There are no meetings held if the third Thursday falls on a holiday

The Coordinator Minority Enterprise position assumes responsibility for the implementation of programs embracing diversity/equity within the community and serves as a liaison with other departments, schools, and outside agencies.
The Coordinator Minority Enterprise coordinates the development and implementation of Minority Business Enterprise/Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) procurement goals by doing the following:
Facilitating the district’s contractor prequalification process
Maintaining an updated directory of certified MBE/WBE
Working with vendors and contractors to better understand and embrace MBE/WBE goals
Conducting workshops with MBE/WBE to help with their development and expanding business opportunities, developing goals, and raising expectations
