Dr. Rob Fulk

Fulk has been in the interim position since October

Jan. 5, 2024—After more than three months in the interim position, Dr. Rob Fulk has been appointed Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) chief operations officer.

Fulk oversees a wide range of responsibilities critical to the smooth functioning of JCPS, including transportation, facilities, nutrition services, maintenance, and more.

“In my time in the interim position, I have found that we have absolutely amazing people that work in operations to keep our schools running, our students fed, our buses on the road, and our district moving forward,” said Fulk. “One of the primary motivators for me to apply for the permanent position is the people of operations and their dedicated, professional support of our students.”

Fulk joined JCPS in 2016. In his time with the district, he has been the assistant superintendent of middle schools and principal at Marion C. Moore School and Iroquois High School. Before JCPS, Fulk worked as an assistant superintendent, principal, and teacher for Trimble, Bullitt, and Oldham County Public Schools.

“Dr. Fulk’s appointment to Chief Operations Officer is a testament to his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the success of JCPS,” said Dr. Marty Pollio, JCPS superintendent. “His expertise will elevate our operational efficiency, ensuring a brighter future for every student we serve.”

Fulk received his doctorate of education, educational specialist, and master’s degree from the University of Louisville.

Fulk’s first day as COO is January 8.
