Available to any JCPS school that wants them

Oct. 17, 2023—GE Applicances has committed to provide a washer and dryer to any Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) school that wants one, a donation that will help ensure students have access to clean clothes.
School laundry centers have a signficant impact on student attendance and success, said JCPS Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio and Peter Pepe, vice president of clothes care at GE Appliances.
"When you're focused on what you're going to eat or hygeine products or even clean laundry, then it's difficult to focus at school," said Koki Harris, head of student support at Fern Creek High School. "Providing resources like we're providing today will allow the students to focus on academics, and it will increase their chances of being successful."
