Danny White finds unique way to motivate his team
Oct. 9, 2023—Eastern High School head boys golf coach Danny White found a new way to help motivate his players this past golf season.
"I had a full beard to start the year out," White said. He continued to say that if the team won two golf tournaments in the season—something that hadn't been done prior—he would shave his beard.
Prior to the 2023 season, during White's tenure as head coach, the Eagles won one tournament.
"They finished first in the first tournament, second in the second," White said. "On the fourth tournament, the beard was gone."
Eastern finished seventh in the program's first appearance in the All-State tournament and finished fifth in regional play.
