Hudson roster features two girls—Breasia and her cousin Day'Myiah
Sept. 26, 2023—As the Dr. J. Blaine Hudson Middle School Panthers prepare for football practice, two players stand out before the pads come on: cousins Breasia and Day'Myiah.
Breasia and Day'Myiah are the two girls who play on the Hudson football team.
"When people ask me, all the girls and boys be like, ‘You play football?!’ and the teacher asks me if ‘you play football’ and I’m like 'yeah,'" Breasia said. "They ask, 'How do you feel [about playing]?' and I be like, 'I’m happy because me and my cousin get to play. I like being on the football team and nobody can tell me different about how can I play or how I cannot play.'”
