June 14, 2023–Brent Fiaschetti has been named the new principal of Norton Elementary School effective July 1. 

Fiaschetti comes to Norton from Wellington Elementary, where he has served as assistant principal since 2019.

Brent Fiaschetti“I am extremely honored to be selected as the next principal of Norton Elementary School,” he said. “Norton has a rich tradition that I am excited to continue and grow.”

Fiaschetti joined JCPS in 2011, teaching science and social studies at Newburg Middle School. He transferred to Barret Traditional Middle School in 2013, where he taught science. At Barret, he also honed leadership skills as the science department chair, an Instructional Leadership Team member, and a Professional Growth and Effectiveness System peer observer lead before taking an administrative role at Wellington in 2019.

“Mr. Fiaschetti is a collaborative leader who will empower teachers to continually grow to meet their professional needs as well as the needs of students,” said Joe Leffert, assistant superintendent of elementary schools, zone 3. “Mr. Fiaschetti believes in high expectations for all staff members, students, and families. He views building and nurturing strong relationships among all stakeholders as the foundation of continued academic excellence.”

Fiaschetti earned his Education Specialist degree in School Administration and Supervision from Indiana University Southeast. He also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Murray State University. Prior to starting his education career, Fiaschetti worked in banking as a manager trainee and personal banker.

While he will miss his team at Wellington, Fiaschetti said he is excited for the opportunity to make his mark at Norton.

He will strive to build strong relationships with the entire Norton community, promote shared leadership, and challenge all students to reach new heights, he said.

“Both culture and climate are important to me,” Fiaschetti said. “I want to ensure that we are continuously building a community of lifelong learners that trust and respect each other.”
