Help desk experience is gained through the classroom and co-op opportunities. Central IT students run the help desk for the school. The Academy will consist of a traditional classroom lab setup with an adjoining maker space area. The combined area will allow students to receive direct instruction, have access to a computer lab for work and research, and have a common makerspace area for innovation and collaboration.

The STEM Magnet is divided into four specific areas:

  1. Lounge Area: Chosen to model a typical college environment, this space inspires collaboration and brainstorming and allows students to work in a comfortable environment.

  2. Conference Space: This is professional space for students to share ideas with business and industry. Students are encouraged to invite the broader community into the classroom, and the conference room will model standard business practices.

  3. Makerspace Area: This is a common area where students have access to tools, parts, robotics, etc.

  4. Classroom Space: This is a traditional area for direct instruction.
