Students may obtain certification in Radiation, CPR, and OSHA training. Students can earn six hours of college credit for Medical Terminology and Principles of Health Science. Upon completion of this program, students have the opportunity to receive a Chairside Dental Assisting Certificate.
Select senior students are chosen to participate in the U of L Dental School Mentorship program, senior students have a paid co-op at Mortenson Family Dentistry working a dental assistant.

Students may obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training. Students also have an opportunity to become a certified pharmacy technician. College credit courses are offered during the sophomore, junior, and senior years.

HOSA: Health Occupations Students of America
Welcome to HOSA at Central High School! HOSA is a student-led organization for students in grades 10-12 interested in healthcare careers. It offers opportunities for volunteering, leadership, and hands-on experiences to shape future healthcare professionals.
What We Do:
Volunteer at local hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes
Organize health fairs and wellness events
Participate in community service projects
Attend leadership workshops and conferences
Compete in health-related competitions at the regional, state, and national levels
Members develop leadership, teamwork, and healthcare skills while making a positive community impact.
How to Join: Students in grades 10-12 are welcome to apply. Whether you’re interested in healthcare careers or building leadership skills, HOSA is for you!

Students may acquire their Medicaid Nursing Aide (MNA, SR) certification and CPR/First Aid certification during their junior year. Students are given the opportunity to take college classes at Jefferson Community & Technical College (JCTC).
