4th Grade Teachers

Madeline Berry

Maddie Berry, Teacher

I love being a Norton Cougar! I have 9 years experience, all of which have been in either 3rd or 4th grade. I think 4th grade is the best grade to teach because students are curious, funny, and capable! I adore passing on my love for reading and curiosity about the world with students.

I earned my BA in Interior Design at Samford University and then changed careers by earning my Masters of Education at Indiana University Southeast. I am currently working on my National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification to earn my literacy specialist endorsement. I love teaching because it lets my design mind be creative, but I get the joy of helping students grow! My husband and I have one daughter, who is a student here at Norton, and two cats. I love reading, traveling, cooking, and doing art projects. Though I love summer break, fall is my favorite season because of the smells, colors, and activities.

Angela Fishburn

Angela Fishburn, Teacher

Hello! My name is Angela Fishburn. Welcome to 4th Grade at Norton Elementary! I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and getting to know your child! I am entering my 16th year of teaching and 8th year here at Norton! Go Cougars! I have taught all grades in elementary school and love the intermediate grades (4th and 5th). My favorite subject to teach is math and I am continuously reading and exploring the best way to teach it. I graduated from the University of Louisville with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and went on to get my Masters degree at Indiana University Southeast. I am currently working on another certification.

I have been married for 15 years and we have two girls, Claire (2nd) and Adeline (6th).  My family all lives in Louisville, which is such a blessing because I love being close to and spending time with my family. When I am not teaching, I love camping, reading in a hammock, hiking, and doing anything to enjoy the outdoors or be physically active. I also love to cook and bake.

Stephanie Maynard

Stephanie Maynard, Teacher

Hello! My name is Stephanie Maynard. I currently teach 4th Grade. I have been teaching for 15 years and 5 years at Norton! Previously I have taught 1st grade (4 years), 4th grade (1 year and then looped to 5th) and 5th grade for the last 9 years. I have been married for 16 years and we have one little girl, Sloane (4th grade) and one cat, Cooper. I was born and raised in the South! I came to Louisville for college and never left! I met my husband in college when we both swam for the UofL. I love swimming for everything it taught me and the experience competing in college athletics gave me. I am an only child and now my parents live 10 minutes away from us. I cherish our time with them so much! I am an avid runner and coach our Norton XC team! Running is a passion and has taught me so much about life. I am so lucky to be a Norton Cougar!
