I'm Amanda Thompson and I'll be your artistic guide throughout your time at Western Middle for the Arts . I am beyond excited to create art with you!
The Love: I am a native Louisvillian but I have lived all over from Dublin, Ireland to Guanghan, China. I love to travel and learn about different experiences and perspectives from different cultures. Most recent excursions include India, Scotland, Singapore, and Indonesia. I'm an avid hiker and nature lover. As a vegetarian for over 25 years, I consider all creatures unique and beautiful. Even the creepy ones!
I joined Western Middle for the Arts in 2011 and immediately fell in love with our school. As a working artist, our dedication to the Visual and Performing Arts is an absolute gift not to be taken for granted. I consider it my mission to share the world of art and culture with you. This road goes both ways. I want to learn about you and your ideas. The more we learn and understand about each other, the better prepared we are to build a stronger, more caring community now and in the future.
The Education: In addition to the wonderful world of learning through experience, I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Kentucky. I've also earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Education and a Master of Art Teaching. Both Masters came from the University of Louisville. Go Cards!
