Documentary

On the first day we brainstormed ideas. Then we started writing scripts and decided who we wanted to interview. We started recording and interviewing using an iPad. When we were done with all of the recording we put our videos in iMovie and started to edit in iMovie. This part was really hard because we were using an iPad generation 8. Eights in JCPS were having technical difficulties in which at the time all the iPad generation 8s iMovie, you couldn't get in them, and so we had to airdrop all the videos to Harper's iPad which was a generation 9 and then we started editing on that. We changed the transitions and added title slides to the beginning and end. We also added music from imovie audio called “Pop Topper.” As soon as we were done we started writing up this process.

We decided to make this documentary to help third graders at Bowen understand more about what to expect going into fourth grade. After we figured out the focus of our documentary, we had to find students to interview for our videos. Then we got onto the iOS iMovie app and GarageBand app to train ourselves on how to use them. We started by adding our first few slides and creating the background music. After we got started with that, we wrote our scripts and questions for the interviews. Next, we made appointments with students to set up interviews and started making those videos. After we interviewed all the students, we went back and edited the videos in the iMovie iOS app. After that, we added our ending slides and credits.
