Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP)

Bowen's 2023-24 Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) Projects are highlighted below.

Spanish Outreach Program

We want Spanish-speaking families to feel included in the school community. To achieve this, we are producing videos in Spanish with the help of our multilingual students. This initiative aims to make these families feel more welcome and at ease. There are 11 students involved in the project, 6 of whom are multilingual.

Cool Down Community Outreach

This 5th grade STLP Team designed and created sensory items for classroom cool-down areas last year. This year, they are improving their designs and offering their kits to places in our community where children may feel stressed.

Bowen to Crosby STEAM Transition Project

In this project, Bowen 5th graders who plan to attend Crosby Middle School next year are creating a series of Q&A videos to help themselves and other students with the transition to middle school.

AI for Kids: An Awareness Campaign

Bowen's 4th-grade STLP team is learning all about AI and creating an awareness campaign to help others enjoy using AI safely. During this project, they will create a public service announcement, infographics, and memes. These will be placed on student-created websites about AI for Kids.

Kindergarten Family Outreach Project

Bowen's 3rd-grade STLP team wants new Kindergarten families to learn all about Bowen before their child becomes a Bowen Bee. They are creating a website with everything our future Bowen families need to know about life as a Bowen Kindergarten student and Bowen parent, starting with arrival and dismissal procedures for bus riders, car riders, walkers, and CEP students.
