Dear Bowen Families,  It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2024-25 school year! I am so pleased that you have chosen Bowen Elementary as your child’s school. Bowen has a reputation for providing a challenging, solid academic program for all students. Our school is also recognized throughout the community as a school that welcomes parents as partners. Most importantly, Bowen is well-known in our student community as a fun place to be!  Our goal in providing this Parent and Student Handbook is to assist families in having a productive school year. The purpose of the handbook is to clarify the policies and procedures we have established to create a safe and supportive environment for students. Many answers to questions concerning our school may quickly and easily be answered by referring to this handbook.  At Bowen, we want parents and families to be actively involved. Make sure to look for opportunities to participate in school whenever possible. There are many ways you can support your child and our school, including the following:  —Ask your child about his or her day.  —Check your child’s backpack daily.  —Encourage your child to read every day.  —Make sure you are set up to receive my Weekly News Update.  —Check the school website frequently for news, announcements, and changes to our calendar of events.  —Communicate with your child’s teacher regularly. —Participate in and support school activities.  —Join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).  —Volunteer! Let’s work together to make this a great school year for your child!
